Hair – Hair must be worn neatly in a secure bun for Ballet and Tap . This keeps hair away from the face and body so dancers can move safely, maintain good posture and alignment, and allows teachers to clearly see the head, neck and upper-body positioning. A neat bun is also traditional within Ballet and forms part of the discipline, presentation and respect expected in class.

For younger dancers, or dancers whose hair is too short to form a bun, hair should be secured neatly away from the face in a ponytail, plaits or with suitable clips.
