Aerial Hoop Uniform
Aerial Hoop requires fitted clothing that allows the dancer and teacher to clearly see body position while preventing clothing from becoming caught around the apparatus.
Approved studio uniform should therefore remain fitted and secure throughout the class.
ORDER MALE UNIFORM → You will be sent information separately to purchase certain uniform for class. (top & bottoms)
Hair – Hair must be worn in a secure bun to prevent it becoming caught in the hoop or interfering with the dancer during skills.
Footwear
Contemporary dance socks may sometimes be worn during particular sections of Aerial Hoop training (not normal socks)
However, they must be removed whenever requested by the teacher.
Bare feet may be required for skills where additional contact and grip with the hoop are necessary.
Skin Grip & Clothing
Some Aerial Hoop skills rely on contact between the dancer and the apparatus, including areas such as:
Behind the knees
Feet
Hands
Arms
Elbows
For this reason, the teacher may ask dancers to adjust or remove warm-up layers before particular skills.
The teacher will determine the safest clothing and footwear for the skill being practised.
